The Florida RV Supershow, 2016

                                 The Florida RV Supershow, 2016

The Florida RV Supershow took place 1/13 to 1/17/2016. It is held at the Florida State Fairgrounds.  It was a fun time for Linda and I.   This is our 4th supershow, and we enjoyed it as much as the first. There were about 700 rigs in the camping area. They provide 30amp electric and you provide your own water and empty tanks to hold your sewerage.  We arrived on the 12th and were quickly guided to our great parking space. Our chapter the Space Coast Travelers hosted the rally. We are a chapter of The Carriage Camping Club which has attended the show for about 20 years and so we get a great parking spot. This year we had electric by 2 o’clock. I would guess about half of the 700 rigs get park on Tuesday, the day before the show opens.

Now onto  the show. Every year they seem to squeeze in more and more rigs. Every size type and style, and every price range. Then there are the venders selling something you have to have.   Outside there are some venders  and in two large building there are many more. The show is billed as one of the largest in the country. Throughout the day there are various seminars.  One of my favorites is coffee and donuts in the morning for rally  attendees. In the evening there is entertainment. This year there was the “Malt Shoppe Memories”, “Cross Strung” and “The Rivoli Revue”.   Before the show there are light snacks. After the entertainment there are drawings for door prizes.  After a busy day of browsing and the shows we were ready for bed, just to start all over tomorrow.

One of the many nice things about camping at the show is meeting up with old friends. Each year we do meet up with friends we hadn’t seen since the last show or camp out somewhere. Again this year we met up with friends walking the midway and at one of the show.

Of course there is always food involved. Like a few pot lucks with our club and going out to eat. This year we hit something new, Bahama Breeze restaurant. This is the first time Linda and I had ever eaten at one, and it was very good.
This was our favorite display of the show. Being dog lovers, these dog stole our hearts.  This is the mother of the dog in the following picture. This cause is near and dear to us as we lost two dogs to K9 cancer.  Also our one son lost two dogs to cancer and another son lost one dog to cancer.
She just laid there and held the sign, like forever. She was so gentle and calm even with all the people talking to her and petting her and even giving her kisses.

This is her son. The next day we met her other son.

One in three dogs will develop cancer. The organizer is www.chaseawayk9cancer.org

We found this small very nice park on our detoured route home to PA. Detoured because of flooding on I95.
The park no longer accepts Passport America. However they did give use a 30 amp site with water for only $20.00 Sites with full hook up and cable are about $40.00. They are a Good Sam psrk. There is  no over the air TV. The park is build into a hillside with a deep drop and steep hillside entrance. Very doable. We had one of the few pull-thrus.
There are 53 sites, I believe a few more being added. The site was level gravel.
Very friendly staff.

Roads are wide and paved. We were in a rush to get back to PA and didn’t have time to explore the park. It is very new and is very nice.  There is a laundry and bathhouse. There is also a heated pool. Several small fishing ponds.Lots of room to walk a dog.It is a very nice  park and we  would stay here again.
Just arrived, getting dark
 Wide roads and some construction.
Still hooked up and getting ready to leave
