Sky Ute Casino RV Park

The Sky Ute Casino RV Park is super. It is small with only 24 sites and filled them almost every night of the twelve  we were there. It is full hookup big rig friendly. Best part it is Passport America. Your Casino play can also get you free nights. We also received many perks for food etc.  Very clean. Super friendly host and very helpful. Can't say enough about them. The best ever. There is a super nice indoor pool with a lazy river and hot tub. A laundry, exercise room and showers. All super clean. It is located about 15 miles from Durango.

Coushatta Casino RV Park

It was a short drive of about 80 miles to the Coushatta Casino. Looked like rain, but we lucked out on the trip to here.

Our site

Each site has a picnic table.

Look at that sky. Ever couple of sites there is an  enclosed trash container. We are in the middle.

Scary looking sky, as this area has been getting some bad weather.

We did stay a couple of extra nights because of rain and strong winds. We were comped for all but two nights of our stay. Unfortunately   for us they were weekend nights which were higher in price. I believe it was $45. a night.

The casino/Rv park is just of route 190 and about 20 miles from I10 The RV Park has all paved roads and fairly level very long pull thru sites. The check in area is very big(the biggest we have ever seen). All big rig friendly. There is a gas station as you enter. The sites are full hookups with 50 amp electric, cable TV. Wifi, but don't know how good it worked. Very little shade. No privacy between sites. About 100 sites. There are about 50 chalet style cabins. Just think the more cabins the less RV sites, so I don't look at them as a asset.  Great lighting at night. Pick up at your site to take you to the casino, just give them a call. There is a big pool and a big rec room. Enclosed trash container every couple of sites. Security patrols the park. Pet friendly. Small lake. Saw some people fishing. There is also a small water park at the hotel you can use. Nice buffet and restaurant in casino. Great friendly service from the check in to the shuttle drivers to the casino. It was a pleasure to stay here.

Delware State Fair Ground and Race Track and Casino, Harrinton Delware

Sorry no pictures. Just picture a large paved parking lot. We stayed at the back of it. We planned to stay in the fair grounds, but the fair was the following week  and they were saving the sites for vendors. So we stayed in the casino lot. It is a large complex. The girl in the office said the price to stay there was $35.00. A little high for a fair ground.  The town was Harrington, about 20 miles south of Dover. It did get hot during the night so we needed the generator to run the air conditioner .The first Smoke Free Casino we ever visited. A very nice buffet.

Maiden voyage and ON THE ROAD AGAIN

Our first road trip was a short 68 miles one way. We traveled to the Orlando/Clermont Thousand Trails. It was a short six day trip to check out all the systems on the RV. No problems we didn't know about. The park was about 1/10 full.  The last time we were here the 800+ sites were all taken. What a difference when the snow birds head north. I hope all the Florida residences realize the impact the snowbirds make on their economy.

We finally got on the road after many delays. This is one of them, a new dock.

We thought  about going to Maine, but we want to be back in Florida in August. To short a time period to go that far. So our original plan was put back into play. We headed to the Florida Keys. Even though its 3-400 miles farther south, depending where we are staying, we are hoping for a breeze from either the Gulf or the Atlantic. We wanted to get off  I 95and travel some of the back roads south. We headed to the Lake Okeechobee  area to get to route 27 south, to 997 south then to route US 1 south. On the way we traveled through some of Florida's farm land.

Sugar cane fields.

Domino sugar processing plant.

Not your average garden tractor

Why is that guy following so close? Actually its our car in the rear view camera

Your from where?

Our first stop was a Indian Casino for a overnight.

Even though there is no fee to stay in their lot, the $42.+ seafood buffet, plus some gambling makes up for the "no fee" stay.
