Jolly Acres RV Park ST. George SC

Jolly Acres.  This is a great find about 5 miles off interstate  I 95.  Very quite. We had a long pull thru site with W/E, so we didn’t have to unhook. There is a dump. The shower/restrooms are very clean.  The laundry is very nice. There are many very well kept permanent sites. Overall the park is very clean and well kept. Call ahead for a reservation, as the transient sites filled up when we were there. Very friendly owners.  This park is worth the extra 5 miles off I 95. We will stop here again. $16.00

The Oaks RV Park Yemassee SC

The Oaks  is a park in need of a lot of work.  Some of the worst pot holes we ever encountered going into and in the park itself. Pots holes full of water and very muddy throughout. The site we were on we needed about a 30 foot sewer hose. So be prepared.  The pool was green.  We had a problem with the cable.  The reason we stay in this park is that it is right off I 95, and we pass through here at least twice a year, and with our Thousand Trails membership it is free for us.  Most of the sites are long enough that you don’t need to unhook, also making it convenient. I just hope some upgrades can be made very soon. They also except Passport America. It is dog friendly. The pictures do not show the pot holes, my boo boo.

 

 

 

Cypress Camping Resort update

Cypress Camping Resort is no longer a Coast to Coast member. You can see our review of this super resort in our RV South Carolina label, date 11/5/2012. Rates now are $45 river front, $40 off water front, after 10/31/13 they will be $30 and $35. per night. Sorry to see them leave CTC. We really enjoyed this park.

Hardeeville - Thomas Parks RV Park

Staff; There is no staff to be seen. Self check in, grass gets cut, etc, and the place is neat and clean, but didn't see anyone working. We did meet the owner and she was friendly. Cash or check only.
Price; $20 for 30 amp, $21 for 50 amp. This is with the Passport America 50% discount.
Site; We had a extra large grass site. Sites vary from the usual pull thrus to sites scatterd through out the park. We had a full  50 amp. Roads were packed gravel.
Big Rig Friendly; Yes. Wide roads and pull thrus.
Amenites; see below
Laundry; yes but in poor repair. 2 or 3 washers and dryers that didn't work. others didn't. 
Phone/Wifi/TV; Our Verizon worked well. Wifi at our site was very good. Cable TV was good. Our satalite had clear veiw of southern sky.
Dog Friendly; Yes lot's of room to walk a dog.
Night; Little to no outdoor lighting. A little road noise, but didn't disturb us. Quite over all.
Comments; A very clean and well kept park(other then laundry). Cash or checks only. Self contained RVs only, no rest rooms or showers. Picnic tables at most sites, we ask the owner when we saw her for one and she said she will see what she can do, but we never got one. This is a great place to stay if visiting the Savannah GA area. It is located about 10 miles from the downtown visitors center. We would stay here again.

Lake Aire RV Park

Site descrciption; Fairly level grass. Roads gravel and a very rough road going into park. The road is almost a turn off, but we had friends that recommended this park. If it wouldn't have been for their recommendation this could have been a turn around. Site are standard spacing with no privacy between them. We had full hookup with 50 amp electric. We had a picnic table. A few small ponds for fishing. About 70 sites. We were on site K7.
Big rig friendly; Yes, but just go slow.
Amenities; ponds, pool, quite spot, laundry.
Laundry; Yes, but we didn't check it out.
Phone/Wif/TV; Our Verizon worked well, Wifi in park was very good at our site.TV, we used our satalite, good shot of southern sky.
Dog friendly; yes, very. Lots of room to walk a dog.
Night; very very few lights in park.Quite, with an occasion train.
Book exchange; NO
Comments; A very good locations and rate for visiting Charleston. Downtown Historic Charleston about 10 miles. It is just a bare bones campground. It was fine for us, clean and quite. And served our purpose very well to visit the Charleston area. We would stay here again

Ocean Lakes RV Resort

Price; Rally fee  $50. per night, this was the rally rate.  Regular rates about $30 to 70, varies from season to locations.
Site description; We had a pull thru with 50 amp full hookup.  We were in "oceanfront". We were maybe 50 yards to the edge of the beach. The roads were very narrow and some members had a problem pulling into or out of sites, because of the narrow roads and other RVs in front or back of them. Lucky for us we could get out and in ok. There is NO privacy between sites.  The sites were level and paved. Not all sites in the park are paved.  Trash pickup at site. Picnic table, no fire rings.There are about 900 RV sites and over 2000 permanent sites, many with homes on stilts. This is a very very big resort.
Big rig friendly; yes with caution, narrow roads.
Amenities; too many to mention, check out their web site www.oceanlakes.com
Laundry; about 100 washers and dryers. Very clean with a laundry service and dry cleaning.
Phone/wif/TV; Verizon cell and data very good. Wifi in Park good, 70 channel cable TV.
Dog friendly; Yes but not easy to find a spot to walk you dog in most areas.
Night; Good night lighting. No noise other then the ocean.
Book exchange; Not sure but I would guess there is one somewhere.
Special features; A short walk to the beach.
Comments; This resort has 310 acres, ocean front. Super if you want the beach. I would not want to be here in season. It must be like a small city in season. They have every thing you could want to do while here. Like I said check out their web site. For us its to crowed and not our type resort. We would probably not stay here again unless with a rally or other special event.

Site Description;We had a pull thru with full hook ups 50amp electric. Long cement pad with gravel roads. Average spacing, no privacy between sites.

Amenities; A pool that has a super walk in ramp on one side. 1200 foot frontage on the intercostal waterway. Boat ramp. Conference center. Small pond for fishing.

Pool, see the walkin ramp. individual shower rooms, the laundry room.

Laundry; Very clean 4 washer and dryers.
Phone/Wifi/TV; Verizon phone 4 bars 33G, Wifi was fair to very good. TV most sites with open sky view. Over the air  TV, many stations.
Dog friendly; Yes, lots of room to walk a dog.
Big Rig Friendly; Very big rig friendly. Wide roads, all pull thru sites.
Night; Very low light. Very quiet.
Summary; Super park, with great views along the intercoastal waterway. A super value with Coast to Coast. We would stay here again.  The park just opened in June of 2012.

The Oaks at Point South Yemassee SC, date 10/1/2011

Location; 1292 Campground Road,  Yemassee SC 29945 Phone 843 726 5728 About a mile off I95.
Site; Full hook up 50 amp electric, pull thru level packed sand.  Roads and sites can use some gravel and patching. Grass what little there was needs mowing and trimming. Trees can use trimming. With a little work this could be a much better park. Picnic table at site in poor condition.  92 sites, most are pull Thurs.  
Laundry; there is a laundry, but we didn’t check it out.
TV, Wi-fi, Phone;  Cable TV, about 15 channels, $2.70 night extra . Wifi, $4.95 night, Verizon good service.
Dog Friendly;  Yes, lots of area to walk a dog.
Amenities; Swimming pool (close)over grown play area, ponds for fishing.
Summary; This could be a much better park with a little work . Good location right off interstate. Good location to visit Beauford SC.
Big Rig Friendly; Yes , but be careful of some tight turns.
Price, Discounts,Clubs; our coast $0.00, part of Thousand Trails. They do take Passport America with reservations only. Also Good Sam discount.
Opinion; We would stay here again. Its a good stop if traveling I95. Its is not a destination type park for us. The price for us at $0.00 makes it acceptable.

Thousand Trails Carolina Landing Fair Play SC March 2011

Site: Our site was a paved full hook with 30 amp electric. There was a locked 50 amp plug that was 2 or 3 dollars a day extra. The site was very unlevel. Many of the sites were unlevel. It was just long enough for our rig, but no parking for the truck.  We did have room to park the car at our site.
Laundry: Yes but didn't check it out.
TV,Phone,Wifi: TV over the air was ok, we got all major networks. Our Verizon cell phone worked well. Didn't try the wifi.
Dog Friendly: Yes, lots of room to walk a dog.
Amenities: Many like all TT's.There is a indoor and outdoor pool. and planned activities.
Location;About one mile off exit 4 of I77 ,along Lake Hartwell, just 4 miles from GA
Summary:We stayed only one night as we were just passing through the area. It is a very very hilly park. This is big rig friendly, BUT you must choose you site and the loction to get to the site very carefully. Since we stayed here for free as TT Members, we may stay here again. But we would drive through and check out what sites where available and  we could get into before staying here agin. There is a great Corp of Engeeries Park we stayed at on Lake Hartwell about 5-10 miles from here.  To be fair to the park, we only spend one night here and really didn't get to check out the park very well.   We got in late and it was pouring rain.
Bonus:On large Lake Hartwell. Only one mile off the interstate.

The Oaks, Yemassee SC

     Stayed here in 8-2010, a good overnight stop about 1 mile off  I95. All sites are pull thru and long enough so you don't have to unhook. $22. night w/Passport America, cable TV and tax. Park roads and sites could use some gravel.
