Our next jaunt was to Grand Prairie. We stayed at the Happy Trails RV Park. A very nice park. Next day we shopped, got haircuts and visited the Canadian Superstore ( like a Sam’s or Cosco. It was a rainy, cold day. Finally made it to Mile Marker 0 at Dawson Creek. Very nasty day, cold, windy and miserable Visited the museum had lunch. Because of the weather being so bad we didn’t stay to long. We headed to Ft. St. John. Spent the night and headed to Ft. Nelson, again just a night stop. Talked to two other RV’s and they invited the guys fishing when we get to Alaska that sure made their day.
Our next stop was the Laird Hot Springs at the Laird River Hot Springs Provincial Park Campground. What a pretty place. The springs were fantastic, so nice and warm and relaxing. Both trips to the springs it was raining, but we didn’t care nor did all the other’s who were there. We stayed two days and are now in Watson Lake YT. Tonight we are going to the Northern Lights Centre. We saw several huge Buffalo, black and grizzly bears and 2 red fox on our travels here. We will send pictures as soon as we can. The lakes the guys want to fish are still frozen, so the guys haven’t had a chance to try their luck.
The beauty of the landscape is breath taking. Around each bend and over the next hill is spell binding. Linda must have taken at least a 1000 pictures, thank God they are digital. We did encounter some mighty steep hills, both up and down and the truck is doing just great. Since leaving TX on the 4th travel 2988 miles north and west. Add about anther 1000 miles not towing, just touring around. Average price for diesel is about $3.79 a gallon in Canada. It is daylight till about 11:15 PM and then its light by 4:00 AM. The temp today is about 75, the warnest in about 2-3 weeks. Its been on the cool side. So far the roads have not been to bad.
Blazer is doing much better and is almost back to normal. Lilly is having a very hard time on the stairs, other then that she is doing well. Her hearing is almost completely gone. We did update our map on top right so you can follow along our route.
