Goshen Indiana

While in Goshen we visited the "Old Bag Factory". Today it is a number of shops, artisans, antiques and cafes. There were some very neat shops. In one of the shops  was a pianos restoring shop. The owner wasn't busy and spent quite a bit of time telling us some very interesting stories about finding vintage pianos in various places.

We also visited another shop were Linda got to do some painting on fabric. The lady was  very interesting telling about her trade. Much of her work is in various galleries around the area and other cities.

Another interesting thing was about the old factory itself. The factory made bags for flour sacks. . There were many stories posted on the walls about the factory and some old machinery displayed.

I wonder how many rural folks had clothing make from these bags. Interesting story, enlarge so you can read it. The company was "the Chase Bag Co.".  They made jute and paper bags also and had 28 locations in the U.S..

There was a chocolate shop and the owner was from Gettysburg PA. Well this was time for a few more stories. Good thing the shops weren't busy.

We can across this band in downtown Goshen.
